"Wall St. has been a cult classic for finance types for well over 20 years and is still relevant today. It's a classic tale of the pitfalls of greed and a refreshing look at how slipperly that slope can be. The movie produces a number of really good quotes including, lunch is for whimps, money never sleeps and of course Gordon Gekko's famous greed is good speach. While the final message of the movie is a warning against the excesses of success, it also does a good job of highlighting the struggles of those who play by the rules. "

"I wouldn't consider this one of the best movies about technology, but it was still pretty good. Sandra Bullock plays a character who ends up sideways with a shadowy government and ends up having her identity stolen in a big way. While the plot is fairly predictable and the acting is a little on the weak side, the fast pace action makes it easy to look past it's flaws. The key to enjoying the film is to not take it too seriously. Not recommended for those of you who've had your credit hijacked by Nigerian scammers. "

"I tend to like anything with Denzel Washington in it, so I'm probably biased on this one, but I really enjoyed this film. Sure it had it's cheesy moments, but the special effects were fantastic and the plot was intriguing. Basically, it's about a psycho computer program that connects with cutting edge nanotechnology to produce the world's worst serial killer. The movie was predictible, but there were also a few surprises. I don't know that I'd pay to see it a second time, but if you enjoy sci-fi, it's worth checking out. "

Alfred HItchcock Named Greatest ...

Alfred Hitchcock
"There are a lot of great directors out there, but Alfred Hitchcock has been named #1 in an online poll. Hitchcock beat out Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppola and Stanley Kubrick to name a few. I'm not sure if I would have picked Hitchcock as the all time greatest, but I will say that I enjoyed his films. One of the things that he was very good at was taking a single murder and turning it into a very intense event. In today's movies, you need a high body count to creator that kind of tension, but Hitchcock could do it with just a single death and no special effects. I'm not sure what his trick was, but even today I still find his movies a bit creepy.http://www.bizofshowbiz .com/2007/09/alfred_hitchcock_ named_greates.html "

"In the book of man, they suggest using the technique as a way to make sure that you are eating things that your mom would normally buy vs. the crap you digest as a bachelor. I've always wanted to try it, but don't really have the guts. When I was in college, I used to go to garage sales and buy records for $1. It didn't matter if I had even heard of them, I bought them no matter what. I ended up with a lot of good music that summer, but it took me a long time to figure out what I did and didn't like. I could see myself doing a blind movie rental, but a blind buy seems gutsy. Once I see a movie I don't usually want to see it again unless it's amazingly fantastic. "

"I've never made a blind buy, but the official book of man recommends trying it at least once in your life. They don't narrow it down to DVD per se, but rather recommend that you walk into a grocery store, steal some old lady's filled up cart and just buy whatever is in it. I've never had the guts to do it myself, but one day I'm going to try it and will end up with a bunch of baby forumula I don't need. "

"ID was a controversially film for our group, but at the end, there were enough not guilty votes to make this one an acquital. I'll add it to the list of movies set free and everyone can watch it this fourth and not feel any guilt over supporting a bad movie. There were many different opinons about the film, but overall, I think most of the group agree d that while it had it's bad moments, it also had some good parts too. "
